INNER HEALING and SPIRITUAL TRANSFORMATION

Updated: Dec 1, 2020

Revised

The call and charge from the LORD came to us from: Luke 4:18-19 (KJV) 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. This call and charge were acknowledged at the end of our first year of marriage when we were blessed to be ordained by the late Bishop and Dr. Benjamin Reid. During this time, the Lord gave us a vision which contained elements concerning various aspects of ministry.

This article will serve as an introduction to the concept and fulfillment of Inner Healing and Spiritual Transformation. First, we define separately the terms used:

Inner:

1) Situated inside or further in; internal

2) Mental or spiritual

Healing:

1) To restore to health or soundness; cure: healed the sick patient

2) To ease or relieve (emotional distress)

Spiritual:

1) Of or pertaining to the spirit or the soul

2) Of or pertaining to God or a place of worship; sacred

3) Of or pertaining to spirits; supernatural

Transformation:

1) The act or process of transforming

2) The state of being transformed

3) Change in form, appearance, nature, or character

4) An event that occurs when something passes from one state or phase to another

So, Inner Healing and Spiritual Transformation is the process whereby Arjeana and I work with individuals privately to go through the steps to get to the root cause of the offense that is the challenge, the thing that keeps people from going forward in their life. It is extremely easy and at the same time complex because so many unknown factors are involved because we are all human and fearfully and wonderfully made by the Lord.

The Lord knows all about each of us and has given each a gift(s) to be used for His glory to bring about the Inner Healing and Spiritual Transformation. We are vessels used by God who fast, pray and study God’s Word. God brings to our remembrance those scriptures and concepts needed to perform the task. We have not been trained by a psychologist or psychiatrist, nor have we had counsel or guidance by them.

Our training comes from the Lord who equipped us with the “gifts and calling” to perform the task by using Word of Knowledge, Word of Wisdom, Gift of Healing, Gift of Miracles and others gifts from the Lord. This training has occurred over a lifetime of experiences of tests, trials, and tribulations.

The Lord Jesus promised in the following scriptures certain things to happen or be and we believe them explicitly:

Mark 16:17-18 (KJV) 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Luke 10:19-20 (KJV) 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

John 14:12 (KJV) 12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

The cycle of life varies from person to person but the above provides an idea how the flow might occur in one’s life.

Inner Healing and Spiritual Transformation by further definition is deep root deliverance and cleaning of the inner man (the real person which is the human spirit). Once an individual has been cleansed and goes back to the thing that caused the offence they subject themselves to experience Matthew 12:43-45 (KJV) 43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. 44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

The scripture is referring to someone who fails to continue in life with a daily diet of the Word of God and fellowship with the saints. When people go back to what they experience prior to deliverance they set themselves up for things to be worse than before they were delivered the first time. So then the scripture tells us what the evil spirit does: 45 then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

A critical element not found among many people who perform deliverance ministry is the spirit of compassion or better known as unconditional love. The person given the task of bringing deliverance must have an excellent sense of self value and demonstrate the compassion of Jesus when dealing with individuals who are wounded and hurt. That element of unconditional love is one of the key ingredients that separate us from others who perform the work of deliverance.

L O V E as described in 1 Corinthians 13:1 (KJV) 1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have no charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. This is how people are who have not love. But the scripture goes on to tell us the greatest of these is love: 1 Corinthians 13:13 (KJV) 13 and now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. Charity = LOVE!

Illustrations are found in the following scripture stories of people receiving inner healing and spiritual transformation: The woman with the issue of blood is the first one found in Matthew 9:20-22 (KJV) 20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: 21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. 22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

The story of SAUL to PAUL is the second found in the word we have chosen for examples: Acts 9:1-18 (KJV) 1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatening's and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, 2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. 3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: 4 and he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? 5 And he said, who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. 6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. 7 And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man. 8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus. 9 And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink. 10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord. 11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth, 12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight. 13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: 14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name. 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: 16 for I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. 17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. 18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

These two stories were used to compare the possibilities of different situations. The most important scripture we use for inner healing and spiritual transformation is Psalm 107:20 (KJV) 20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. The Word of God, prayer and prophetic utterance are some of the most important tools used for inner healing and spiritual transformation. In conclusion this whole process of inner healing and spiritual transformation is not popular because it relies on the Holy Spirit to do the work of transforming the human spirit from what it is to what it needs to be to be successful. Many people are not in touch with 1 Thessalonians 5:23 (KJV) 23 and the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The reason the last scripture is so important is because it clearly lets us know that the spirit is the real person because the only way to communicate and worship God almighty is through the spirit. Scripture says in John 4:24 (KJV) 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

The only way to get to God is through the interworking of the human spirit and Holy Spirit.

When you acknowledge your challenge whether natural, spirit or mental and take action to initiate the healing process then pain will be removed.
