Truth!

What is truth? This article will look at various aspects of truth and what truth means today verses what it meant yesteryear to me. It is a mundane and esoteric discussion meant to get us thinking with so many lies and deception around us. As someone said, Swirling around us is various shades of the truth. Truth was once absolute; the only thing absolute about truth now is that it is not what it used to be.

Common definitions of truth: the quality or state of being true; that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality and/or a fact or belief that is accepted as true.

We live in a day and time that many people have their own definition of truth. Many people’s belief of true is not based on reality, but fiction. I suspect that if you asked 100 people “What is truth” you would get 100 different answers. Are the schools really teaching anything and are the church’s teaching anything that helps grown people in the basics?

As you can see, I am a sceptic about all the stuff mankind has come up with as truth. I only submit to the Bible as true because of the things that happened in my life that I know a man could not do on his own. Because I believe I have been able to validate life through the truths I found in God I accept the truths of the Bible. I have not found a man who could raise someone from the dead or bring back to life dead things. Only through the power of God have I seen a person go from depressed to victor who received inner healing and spiritual transformation.

An example of what use to be truth is when people would give you their word they would follow through and make it good. Today if someone tells you something you had better get it in writing and hope that they have some type of insurance to fall back on when they default. Peoples’ word or their bond is a silly joke for most people who say, “trust me!” You might as well plan on doing it yourself.

Not only is truth really deception for some it is their way of life. Remember longs years ago when men would open the door for any woman they were going through a door? Just stand back and watch sometime how men and women do each other when simply going through the door at the post office. What is it when a man says, “I love you,” is saying I want to have sex with you, or I want to be with you the rest of our life? Is it better or worse until worse arrives and they discover it is better to be someplace else?

Human relationships can be the most trying when attempting to sort out the truth; especially if the relationship is only good when things are going well and when trouble hits the relationship is over. They said I will love you no matter what but when “what” visits the relationship they cannot be found. And if you find them with another man or woman, they will say I did not do anything especially if you find them in the bed with that person! They will tell you to your eye I did not do anything.

The art of lying possesses some people who have developed the ability to look you in the eye and not flinch; they make it seem like they are telling the truth. Do they practice this behavior, or have they become so callous and uncaring that they can look you in the eye and lie! They expect you to believe them and many times you do until you start to do your homework by investigating them or having them investigated. More than likely when a relationship gets to that point it is over.

The new truth is take my word for it and do not do your research to discover the truth. What a mistake to make believing everything someone says to you that claims to be saved or a follower of Christ. We live in an age where insane boldness to lie exist in every facet of life. There was a time when people would not stand in church and lie to your face. Now they will not only lie to your face but also rob you blind!

We are discussing various aspects of truth. One thing we have not touched on is how the lack of trust hurts all. When you say you are going to do something and you do not do it, you are lying which is the opposite of truth. The impact of the lie told has a ripple effect meaning there are others who were depending on you to keep your word, but you did not. Everyone in the change of events from that lie is affected in some way or another. You do not just hurt the one you lied to but all those associated with that person.

I mentioned earlier that the only truth I believe is from the Bible and those who prove themselves by truth. That would be the Bible and my wife. Jesus said in John 14:6 (KJV) 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. So, to me everything in the Bible is true and/or truly stated. But other humans other than my wife when we engage in business, ministry and other endeavors must prove to me that they are truthful. I understand we all are imperfect and have sinned and come short of the glory of God. So, when I find an individual who lies to avoid the truth, I know I must stay away from that person because they are poison.

True story: When we arrive just a few miles out of Denver, Colorado in 1996 the Lord opened the heavens to me, and I could see one of the many master demons sitting over the city; that master demon spirit was the spirit of lying. I suppose had I been more mature in the Lord I would have asked God could we go someplace else or give me more knowledge how to deal with people whose agenda seemed to always entail some lying and deception. We lived in Colorado all those years dealing with one liar after another, but the Lord brought us out safely out.

Truth is for those who have integrity whether saved or not when spoken and adhered to regardless of consequences. Another powerful scripture says it this way: John 8:32 (KJV) 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. In this scripture we see that truth itself will set you free; how powerful for words that are true to free someone from bondage, guilt, and shame. When you are free you can think and act clearer in your behavior.

As you see we could go on about truth whether looking at truth from today’s point-of-view or what they consider the absolute truth in years gone by. Truth is truth regardless who says differently. To have a better life you might consider seeking the truth in all your communication if you have not already embraced it. Remember the truth will make you free.

Are you given to tell the truth
